We all know Anna Kendrick can act. After all, the starlet did get nominated for an Oscar. But can Anna sing? Well, we’ll soon find out, as the "Twilight" actress is in talks to star in "Pitch Perfect," an upcoming musical romantic comedy.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anna could play a rebellious and goth-like college student who discovers her voice in her school’s female a cappella group.
Yes, the premise is very "Glee"-goes-to-college, so expect to see Anna breaking out those harmonies and probably a Rachel Berry-esque solo or two! And, as it turns out, Anna does have some singing chops. She was nominated for a Tony award for her performance as Dinah in the Broadway musical "High Society" when she was only 12.
No word yet on who will play Anna’s love interest in the movie, but we’re thinking, perhaps a certain favorite Warbler of ours could cross over? After all, if there’s a female a cappella group in the movie, there’s gotta be a male one too, surely?
If negotiations work out, Anna will start filming "Pitch Perfect" in the fall in New Orleans. Meanwhile, the busy actress has a slew of movies lined up for release: the cancer dramedy "50/50" at the end of the month, and of course, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" in November. We can’t wait to see Anna bust a lung!
