Teen Choice Awards: 5 Choice Things

The Gibson Amphitheatre's A/C system must have been working overtime last night considering the outsized collection of scorching hot stars gathered for the Teen Choice Awards. I mean, Robert Pattinson and Ian Somerhalder in the same room? Can you say fire hazard? Happily, the ceremony—hosted by "The Big Bang Theory" star Kaley Cuoco—went off without a hitch (or blaze), and there were plenty of Choice moments to rehash this morning. So without further ado, here's our list of the five we're still talking about:

Choice Acceptance Speech

Choice Movie Actor: Romantic Comedy winner Ashton Kutcher tried to start the night off on a serious note, offering up the best piece of advice he received as a teen ("Don't put anything on a credit card that you don't have the money for."), but, of course, the perpetual goofball couldn't keep a straight face for long. Ashton went on to express his gratitude through "the art of music," prompting an auditorium-strong sing-a-long to Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream." A+ for audience participation, Mr. Kutcher.

Choice Fashionista

Bright whites and sunshiney yellows were a big trend on last night's blue carpet, and no one did it better than Selena Gomez. The 19-year-old "Wizards of Waverly Place" star cast a style spell in an Erin Fetherston gold mini dress, which she accessorized with a bright pink clutch and peachy Louboutins. Bewitching, indeed! Choice Debut

This wasn't Taylor Swift's first Teen Choice Awards win—she famously filmed an acceptance video from Japan last year in which she attempted to surf on her trophy. But 2011 did mark her first appearance at the awards show, and leave it to TayTay to make her debut a big deal. The starlet won six awards including Ultimate Choice.

Choice Farewell

Talk about a long good-bye. We already bid adieu to the boy who lived and his Hogwarts classmates weeks ago with the release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2," but we never tire of seeing the series' stars, like Rupert Grint and Tom Felton, take the stage. So it was a magical moment when the close cast mates thanked the fans for making the journey with them (even if Harry himself, Daniel Radcliffe, did it via satellite).

Choice Vampire Moment

Sure, our favorite British bloodsucker nabbed a Choice Vampire surfboard (Hang 10, Rob!), but we were pretty excited about our other vampire obsession "The Vampire Diaries" riding a tsunami-sized wave of accolades, which included Choice TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy Series, Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actress (Nina Dobrev), Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Actor (Ian Somerhalder), Choice TV Male Scene Stealer (Michael Trevino) and Choice TV Female Scene Stealer (Kat Graham). Here's hoping Mystic Falls has enough storage space for all those trophies.

Honorable Mention: Choice Shorty Shorts

Zachary Levi. That is all.
