Ryan Gosling: The 'Crazy, Stupid, Love' Star's 5 Greatest MTV Moments

Ryan GoslingWe've been pretty lucky here at MTV News to get our hands on Ryan Gosling (metaphorically speaking, of course) numerous times over the course of his impressive career. And with the actor baring his soul (and abs) in this weekend's romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love," it seemed the perfect moment to dig through our archives and curate a collection of our favorite Ryan Gosling moments. (A hard job, it was not.)

Without further ado, click past the jump to feast your eyes on Ryan Gosling: The Crush Cut.

5. 'Office' Psychopath

When we caught up with Ryan while promoting his drama "Blue Valentine" at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, we wanted to know if he'd heard about Ricky Gervais' dream to see him play an Uzi-wielding office worker on the hit NBC series. He had, and he was flattered. Sort of.

4. Hey Girl

F--- Yeah! Ryan Gosling knows all about his internet meme. And he adorably agreed to read a few of the hilarious Tumblr posts for us, peppering in his own astute commentary along the way. Sample: "Here's one of me looking at some ducks, and I'm in some kind of 'Star Trek' jacket. I don't know why I have that."

3. Ab Appreciation

Full disclosure: This isn't an interview with the Gos. Instead, we used our mad editing skills to put together a video highlighting the 30-year-old's best shirtless moments on film. Here's hoping that oeuvre only continues to grow...

2. Hey Girl: The Sequel

Because we can never leave well enough alone, we once against accosted Ryan with Hey Girl! printouts, and he once again agreed to a dramatic reading. It isn't just the addition of cheesy music and gauzy special effects that help this video transcend the first. It's the near 20 seconds of uninterrupted giggles, the deep shade of scarlet Ryan's neck turns in embarrassment and his declaration that, "This is so stupid," which really make this redeux something special.

1. 2005 MTV Movie Awards Best Kiss

There's so much to love about this epic clip of Ryan and his "The Notebook" co-star and former girlfriend Rachel McAdams accepting the Golden Popcorn for the year's best cinematic smooch—from Rachel's cheeky halter adjustment to Ryan's come-hither hand gesture. The only thing we don't love? The fact that we didn't star in this video alongside Ryan.
