Miranda Cosgrove is having a busy summer. In early June, her hit TV show “iCarly” joined forces with fellow Nickelodeon series “Victorious” for a crossover episode, “iParty with Victorious.” She had First Lady Michelle Obama hit the set for an upcoming episode, and she’s gearing up for a summer tour. Yet, with all that going on, Miranda still makes it a point to give back not only to her fans, but to her community as well.
Miranda recently attended the Pretty Amazing event in New York City, where she helped to choose one lucky girl to appear on the cover of Seventeen magazine. The winner of this opportunity will receive a $10,000 scholarship from Neutrogena Wave for Change campaign. Teaming up with Global Giving, this campaign provides an opportunity to give back on a worldwide level, and leading the cause is Miranda, who is a Neutrogena Brand Ambassador.
“I’ve been involved with Neutrogena for a while now, and I’m really happy to be a part of the whole Wave for Change program,” Miranda told MTV News. “Every time someone buys the product it gives back to charity.”
And no one is saying you can’t make charity fashionable, which is why Miranda, Vanessa Hudgens and Hayden Panettiere have each designed exclusive tote bags for Target representing different causes.
“I love pink and black; they are my two favorite colors,” Miranda said while describing her bag. “I love hearts and pencils—it’s about education.”
