Sure, newly anointed "Hunger Games" heroine Jennifer Lawrence seems all calm, cool and collected when she's joking with us about "Jersey Shore," but that doesn't mean her nerves don't take over when the pressure is on.
In one of her first interviews since landing the plum role of Katniss Everdeen, Jennifer called in to Ryan Seacrest's radio show and opened up about the harrowing audition process.
"I did this really long improv with Gary Ross—the director—and it was the most terrifying thing of my life," she said.
While we now know Jennifer had nothing to worry about, she couldn't help but doubt her performance at the time. "When I left, and when I heard it went well, I was like, 'Are you serious?' I had my heart in my throat the entire time. I haven't been nervous at an audition in so long, but that one got me."
We have a feeling Jennifer's love for the series—she was a fan way before being offered the role—gave her extra motivation to kick major butt in the audition. "I read them a while ago and was obsessed with them, to put it lightly," Jennifer admitted. "Hopefully we're going to make a good movie."
We hope so too, Jennifer!
