Ryan told Entertainment Weekly, “Gwyneth is coming back for two episodes…Gwyneth and I are emailing, talking every week: What are we gonna sing? We’re trying to do something fantastic. So she’ll be [in episodes] 15 and 16. She comes back [to film] in January and she’s with us for three and a half weeks I think.”
This isn’t just great news for “Glee” fans but for Matthew Morrison’s lovelorn Mr. Schuester! Gwyneth, who will return to teach sex ed to the students of McKinley High School, will also bring some much needed happiness to the heartbroken Mr. Schue. Ryan explained, “She’s coming back specifically to date Will. Those two have become really good friends in real life and had really good chemistry.” Take that, Emma and Carl!
Turns out, Holly Holliday may not be the only one vying for Mr. Schue’s affection as Ryan Murphy also delivered the news that former “Glee” guest star Kristin Chenoweth will be making her return as April Rhodes. No word on what will be going on during her multi-episode arc, but we’ve gotta assume there is some unfinished romantic business between her and Will!
Of course, it’s not just the guest stars that Gleeks are dying to hear about. What about the music we can expect to hear during “Glee’s” return? Well, definitely more Lady Gaga…and her new tunes, at that!
Ryan spilled to EW that Gaga’s upcoming single “Born This Way” (off her highly anticipated album of the same name) will be used for an episode airing this spring dealing with Max Adler’s closeted bully Dave Karofsky. “I love that that song is anthem,” he explained, adding, “This show is by nature optimistic and I think a character like Karofsky could turn to booze or pills or alcohol and kill themselves or do something dark. But I also love Max and I love that character and I sorta want that character to have a happy ending. So I don’t really know what that’s going to be, but I do know we’re going to do a whole episode that’s about that song.”
Plenty to look forward to for the second half of season two, wouldn’t you say, Gleeks?! Tell us what you think in the comments and on Twitter!
