Backstreet Boys, New Kids Got The Right Stuff On American Music Awards Red Carpet

We'll be the first to admit we spent the better part of our teen years obsessing over the Backstreet Boys (BSB) and New Kids on the Block (NKOTB). We knew the lyrics to all of their songs, taped their posters to our walls and fought over which one we'd marry. And who could blame us? They were so cute. Of course, it's been a couple of years, and we totally thought we were over that stage. That is until the two groups (who are planning a tour together) joined forces and stepped out for the 2010 American Music Awards, reminding us what it was like to be a 13-year-old with the biggest. crush. ever.

Now, back in the day, our boys would attend events in matching outfits topped off with funky hairstyles, but now they're all grown up and, thankfully, their style's matured, step by step. Both boy man bands arrived at the AMAs suited up and ready to tear up our hearts. Most of the guys opted for a modern look with silver blazers (NKOTB's Jordan Knight looked especially dapper in his) and skinny ties (we're loving Joey McIntyre's). And then there was BSB's A.J. McLean who opted for a fedora. Gotta love the old-school throw-back. Also, we can't help but point out that Nick Carter, who was always quite the BSB heartthrob, totally held on to his title by leaving the top few buttons of his dress shirt unbuttoned. We want it that way, for sure.

We love the guys' classy, mature looks and really hope that with their joint tour coming up, they don't revert to matching jean jackets again. Actually, who are we kidding...we'd still totally love them, faded denim and all.

Are BSB and NKOTB totally hangin' tough, or what?
