From Whitney Port to Brandy, the stars hit up the red carpet last night for the US Hot Hollywood Party in Los Angeles. Most starlets arrived in short dresses, with the style on the carpet fairly eclectic and overwhelmingly disappointing. We were expecting fashion forward, but what we got were mostly underwhelming (or, in some cases, over-the-top) looks. Keep reading to see which celebs were hot and which were not.
When you hit the red carpet in a dress made out of garbage bags, you can really only go up from there. While we didn't love Ke$ha's silver number, we can't help but acknowledge that it was a major improvement from some of her recent looks. Sure, the hair is um...a little out there, but hey, one step at a time, right? Joining Ke$ha on the carpet was fellow blond, Whitney Port. Whit was definitely one of our favorites of the night in a short, floral, long-sleeved dress, which she paired with a super-cute pair of booties.
Former "Dancing With the Stars" contestants Kelly Osbourne and Brandy were also at the fete, albeit in very different styles. Unlike most of the ladies at the event, Kelly opted to go long, in a purple, white and yellow gown. Kelly’s outfit seemed more fitting for a night out at Medieval Times (especially with that "royal" purple!) than a red carpet event. Brandy, on the other hand, impressed us in a short, blue ruffled dress that totally showed off her tango-ready legs. We really liked B’s simple look and thought the dark blue color looked great on her.
Of course, not everybody went the understated route. Aubrey O’ Day turned up in a tight brown corset with a (faux?) fur bottom. While we adore Aubrey, we thought her look was way over the top! Olivia Wilde also disappointed us in a bright blue, structured frock, which seemed more work appropriate than party ready.
