Deadline broke the news that Christian was cast along with Katelyn Tarver (“Big Time Rush”), Valerie Tian (“Juno”) and Ana Lucasey (“Lie to Me”) in the hour-long drama that follows four ethnically diverse teen girls attending a private school in California. (We handicapped the series’ prospects last month.)
Of all the fresh faces to emerge from the “Twilight” franchise, Christian seems to be the one who’s flown the most under casting directors’ radars. In addition to the “Breaking Dawn,” Christian has only one other movie in the works, 2011’s “96 Minutes.” We’re glad to see her finally getting her due—in a lead role to boot!
Of course, Christian isn’t the first “Twilight” star to grace the small screen. Nikki Reed, Jackson Rathbone and Cam Gigandet all have ties to “The O.C.” Kellan Lutz appeared in several episodes of “90210” during its freshman season, and even superstar Taylor Lautner had a recurring role on Christian Slater’s defunct spy series “My Own Worst Enemy.” Christian’s resume is also chock-full of small roles including parts on “Hannah Montana,” “Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide” and Brenda Hampton’s other series “7th Heaven.” Fortunately, if Christian needs any TV tips, it looks like she has a cast-full of pros to turn to. Congratulations, Christian!
Are you excited to hear Christian will star on her own TV series?
