Inspired By Nick Lachey And Vanessa Minnillo’s Engagement, We Matchmake 5 Other MTV Couples!

We’re not usually ones to brag, but we’ll admit we’re pretty proud of ourselves for bringing Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo together. All right, technically the couple met on the set of Nick’s 2006 music video “What’s Left of Me,” but it can’t be just coincidence that the two have a history with MTV. Nick appeared with first wife Jessica Simpson on their own reality show, “Newlyweds,” while Vanessa hosted the network’s dearly departed countdown show “TRL” for four years. News of their engagement got us thinking about other MTV mainstays that would make perfect couples, so we decided to play matchmaker! Check out our list and tell us your dream MTV pairings in the comments section!

Audrina Patridge and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino
Forget awkward first date banter. These two “Dancing With the Stars” alumni will have plenty to discuss when they sit down for their first dinner date of baked ziti. Plus, we suspect Audrina is no stranger to gym, tan, laundry.

Whitney Port and Duncan Penn
Duncan’s already demonstrated his penchant for blond beauties; on an episode of his bucket list reality series “The Buried Life,” he asked out country cutie Taylor Swift via a fourth grade-style check-the-box slip of paper. With Taylor busy getting ice cream with Jake Gyllenhaal, maybe Duncan can set his sights on “The City”’s Whitney Port (though her boyfriend might have something to say about it…)

Coral Smith and Mike Mizanin
Sure, Coral and The Miz didn’t always see eye-to-eye while they were roommates on “The Real World: Back to New York,” but over the ensuing decade, the duo have become a force to be reckoned with on “The Challenge,” and we’ve always sensed a bit of pent-up sexual tension between them. And if anyone could give The Miz a run for his money in the wrestling ring, it would be the no-holds-barred Coral.
