Far be it from "Glee" star Jane Lynch to sit idly by and watch her young costars have all the fun. Days after Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith's racy GQ cover caused a kerfuffle, Jane is posing in her own PG-13 shots for More magazine.
Will Jane's photoshoot with three sexy, scantily clad men cause the sort of controversy that would force her to issue an apology letter? We're guessing no. But what we are treated to is a cute look into the modest and quaintly settled life of the woman behind Sue Sylvester. Talking about her recent marriage to psychologist Lara Embry, Jane said she accomplished two things that would make her mother proud: "I got married—and I married a doctor!"
"I shouldn't say this, but I'd never dated anyone that I wanted to marry," Jane said about her single days. "I didn't think it was going to be out there for me. But the minute we were married, I felt the difference: I felt like I am no longer alone."
If you caught Jane's hosting gig on "SNL" a couple weeks back, then you know that being tall is part of her shtick. Though she isn't openly self-conscious about being six feet tall, Jane definitely brings her height up in conversation pretty frequently. "My mother was very good about our height. She's 5' 8", and that was tall when she was growing up. She taught us to carry ourselves," Jane told More. "I didn't suffer too much over it. And I'm in proportion—I don't have real long arms or legs. It's not until I stand up that people go, 'Oh, my God. You're tall!' I guess I wasn't creepy tall. A lot of it had to do with the way I presented myself."
As for turning 50 this year, Jane isn't too stressed about it. "I like the equanimity that comes with my age," she said. "I don't have big highs, and I don't have big lows. Even if this job goes away tomorrow, the nonstop ambition is a thing of the past for me. I've mellowed."
Do you think Jane Lynch's raunchy photo shoot will get as much press as the "Glee" kids'?
