Boo! Did we scare you? No? Okay, well, maybe a fright-night feature will get your knees knocking. In anticipation of Halloween, we asked a slew of celebrities to suggest their favorite scary movies to get you in the mood for the ooky, spooky holiday.
You probably know today's guest blogger, Zuzanna Szadkowski, best as Blair Waldorf's ever-faithful maid, Dorota, on The CW's "Gossip Girl." Which flick gives Zuzanna the creeps? The classic "Rosemary's Baby"!
"Rosemary’s Baby" is a masterpiece of horror and my all-time favorite movie. I have always wondered what happens next door to me or down the hall, and the secret about Rosemary’s neighbors blows my mind. This film is an eerie amalgam of witches, Satan and all things dark set against the backdrop of a haunted 1960’s New York City.
My best-loved scene is when Guy blames all of Rosemary’s problems on her haircut. I like that Polanski has made a film about the ultimate monster: an actor who will do absolutely anything to be a star.
My second favorite movie of all time, "Devil’s Advocate" gives homage to "Rosemary’s Baby" in many ways. Al Pacino, as the omnipotent and fiendish Milton bellows to Keanu Reeves’ Kevin, "Vanity is definitely my favorite sin." These movies might not make you scream out loud, but they will certainly creep you out.
What is your favorite scary movie?
