Michael Pitt Rules Our 'Boardwalk Empire' As This Week's Hump Day Hottie

He's scruffy and grungy and certainly doesn't live by the rules laid out by Hollywood. He likes to play parts that require him to dirty up his pretty face, and now that he's on the acclaimed HBO series, "Boardwalk Empire," we are very excited to check him out week after week, which is why he's this week's Hump Day Hottie.

Press play on the video below to see more of Michael, and then keep reading for more details about him!

Vital Stats: The 29-year-old New Jersey native moved to NYC as a teen to pursue his dreams of stardom. He did some theater in the Big Apple before being discovered and getting his big break.

Where you might have already seen him: He made Jen Linley swoon as high school footballer Henry on "Dawson's Creek." He then went on to tackle a number of roles in independent flicks like "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," "Bully" and "The Dreamers." And when he wasn't going all indie on everyone he rounded out his resume in box office fare like "Murder by Numbers" alongside Ryan Gosling and "The Village." He then played Kurt Cobain in Gus Van Sant's "Last Days."

Why you should take notice of him now: He's teaming up with his "Delirious" co-star Steve Buscemi in the gangster-themed HBO series "Boardwalk Empire" about the rise of Atlantic City in the '20s. We certainly don't mind tuning in week after week to check out Michael in the spot left vacant by "True Blood."

Until next week, when we choose another Hump Day Hottie, you can salute Michael by pressing play on the video above!
