Mackenzie Foy Confirmed For Renesmee Role In ‘Breaking Dawn’

It’s official: Cute-as-pie 9-year-old model-actress Mackenzie Foy will play Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward’s (Robert Pattinson) half-vampire-half-human daughter, Renesmee, in “Breaking Dawn.”

In a special note posted to “Twilight”’s Facebook page, “Saga” author Stephenie Meyer confirmed the earlier casting rumors writing:

Hi Everyone!
Congratulations to the Twilight Facebook Fan Page! 15 million fans! You guys never cease to amaze me. In other news…

Very excited about our new Renesmee, Mackenzie Foy. She’s an amazing young actress and I’m excited to work with her. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer!

– Steph

Mackenzie joins the ranks of previously announced “Breaking Dawn” newbies that includes Rami Malek as Benjamin, Maggie Grace as Irina, MyAnna Buring as Tanya, Mia Maestro as Carmen, Casey LaBow as Kate and Christian Camargo as Eleazar.

We can only speculate, but with the addition of “Avatar” special effects guru John Bruno and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” makeup designer Jean Black, it looks like Mackenzie will be part of some high-tech movie-making wizardry as her rapidly aging character comes to life.
