Zac Efron And His ‘Charlie St. Cloud’ Pals Share Their Personal Ghostly Encounters

Regardless of your opinion on the supernatural, seeing a movie about a ghost appeals to everyone. There’s that whole “suspension of disbelief” thing for the non-believers, and for the believers, well, it’s that much more real of a concept. Seeing as “Charlie St. Cloud” stars Zac Efron as a dude who interacts with his younger brother’s ghost, we decided to get the stars of the film to weigh in on their otherworldly encounters as they walked the premiere’s red carpet last night.

Zac said he falls into the skeptical camp, and doesn’t have any ghost stories of his own to share. “I think everyone’s had those things they can’t necessarily explain at one point or another,” he said. “No, I don’t have any ghost stories for you.”

Amanda Crew said she felt that there must be some sort of higher power in the world. “You know, I’ve never seen any ghost, but I definitely believe that there’s some sort of something spiritual out there,” she said. “I mean, there has to be. There’s been too many times in my life that should have gone another way that there’s someone looking out for me.”

Other costars said they actually have had paranormal experiences. “This acting community that I live in, we actually used to be in this building, and there was a ghost in there,” Matt Ward said. “It was weird. You would just be sitting in a room and you would see this little skitter by.”

By far the spookiest encounter happened to Augustus Prew in England. “I was doing this job in Manchester and I was staying in this hotel that used to be an old Victorian mill,” he recalled. “About two o’clock in the morning I woke up and it was really cold in the room, and there was this little kid at the end of my bed. It was really weird and it scared the life out of me and then he disappeared.”

Have you had any real-life experiences with ghosts? Are you excited to see “Charlie St. Cloud” next week?
