Maybe it’s because Robert Pattinson was hard at work filming “Water for Elephants” while Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner promoted “Eclipse” and that’s why everyone stepped back from the “are-they-or-aren’t-they” questions, but extra-talkative producer Wyck Godfrey finally dropped the big one on us and seemed to confirm “they are.”
Time magazine sat down with Wyck recently and pretty quickly got into the Rob and Kristen questions. They asked the obvious question — is having your two leads in a maybe-relationship good for business? — and Wyck responded that isn’t the way he looks at things.
“I honestly don’t think of it in terms of business. It doesn’t affect our core business at all. The thing I do think about is, Oh my God, I hope they stay together. Because it could be awkward on set in the next movie if they have a huge falling out. It’s like, Wow, they have to portray this love story through two more movies. God, I hope they stay together; please stay together. That’s what affects my day-to-day,” he told Time.
Wyck made us doubt his reliability, though, when he told Time he didn’t think the obsession about Rob and Kristen being together is “out there anymore.” Is he out of touch with reality? Has he seen that recent US Weekly cover? Apparently not.
“Do people still report on it? If you look at people who have a stable personal life, the rags get tired of them. I think we’re heading to that place where they are together and that’s their life and we better find someone new to create drama out of,” he said.
