The stars will align tonight for two reasons: first, a Miley Cyrus concert live stream on MTV websites and second — on a more serious note — for a special telethon to help the oil crisis in the Gulf coast on "Larry King Live." “DISASTER IN THE GULF: How You Can Help,” will air from 8 to 10pm ET on CNN.
The two-hour event will help raise funds for United Way, The National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy, all of which are organizations working directly with the families, individuals and wildlife affected by the Gulf oil spill.
Celebs lined up for the program include some pretty big names who we can't help but applaud for turning their attention to a necessary cause: Justin Bieber, Cameron Diaz, Ian Somerhalder, Pete Wentz and many more.
These VIPs will take part in the show's phone bank taking viewer calls (much like many did for Hope for Haiti Now), or in a special online Social Suite—hosted by Ryan Seacrest—for participants platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Celebrity guests post live Facebook updates during the telethon and the hashtag #CNNHelpGulf is used for viewers and online participants wanting to tweet their thoughts.
Other celebs who will take part in the telethon include Deepak Chopra, Philippe Cousteau, Ted Danson, Kathy Griffin, Chelsea Handler, Randy Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Jenny McCarthy, Tim McGraw, Alyssa Milano, Aaron Neville, Melania and Ivanka Trump, and India.Arie, There will be a special performance by Sting.
