In perhaps one of the best teaser videos yet to appear on HBO's "True Blood" site, the man behind the magic, exec producer Alan Ball gives us a very special invitation: to come on set (if only this would happen in real life, too)!
"There's so much going on in season 3," Alan begins. "We are having a blast making this show. There's werewolves, there's vampire politics, everybody on our show is getting into a lot of trouble this year, and it's really fun. Bill has been kidnapped by ... you'll have to watch the show to find out who."
Stephen Moyer appears next and reveals the first scene of the season premiere. "Literally, right at the beginning of the very first episode of season 3, you'll see who has taken [Bill]. Sookie obviously doesn't know where he is."
Sookie's search for her vampire lovah leads her into the pack of the big bad werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello). "When Sookie meets Alcide," Anna Paquin explains while sitting next to the buff Joe, "she's all lonely and sad because Bill's been taken."
Another person affected by Bill's absence? Bill's newborn vampire ward Jessica! "Bill is missing from my life, I'm sort of left alone to my own devices," Debora Ann Woll says of her feisty character. Guess we know now what leads her to that seedy casino bar!
In the clip, Deborah is hanging out on the set of Merlotte's with Brit Morgan, who plays Alcide's vicious ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt. "Such two powerful creatures come together," Brit says of vampires and werewolves, "and that's danger." Particulary, adds in Deborah, "werewolves on V!"
Alan chimes in again at this point in our set visit and mentions "unexpected romances." Cut to James Frain, who plays the vampire Tara (Rutina Wesley ) has a fling with. "We basically have a rollercoaster love affair," James tells the camera, "but with fangs."
Speaking of rollercoaster love affairs ... Jason Stackhouse (Ryan Kwanten), as we know from his teaser, will be all about dangerous romance when he meets Crystal (Lindsay Pulsipher). In the video, Ryan asks his co-star to describe their relationship, and without hesitation, Lindsay says "An explosion!"
Not one to miss out on the chance for hot loving, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), meanwhile, will be apparently busy with his own conquests. "What exactly is your interest in my boyfriend, Talbot?" new cast member Denis O'Hare asks Alex. "Are you jealous now?" Alex replies with a smirk. Looks like our theories on which Bon Temps man Talbot's (Theo Alexander) going to hook up with were dead on!
While all of the above is going on, Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) will be trying to learn about his real family, which includes brother Tommy (Marshall Allman). "I think that I'm damaged — until I meet you!" the actor laughs as he points to Marshall, who we then see in a scene pointing a gun at his bro!
Nelsan Ellis, who is sitting next to Lafayette's new bf (Kevin Alejandro) concludes, "It's like a whole new world now being introduced because you have these other new characters." Needless to say, we can't wait for June 13th!!
What did you think of this on-set video? Which part did you crack up at the most? Which new character are you most looking forward to getting to know?
