'Eclipse' Soundtrack Listing: Bands Revealed So Far Include Vampire Weekend And The Bravery

By George Loomis

The slow reveal of the “Eclipse” soundtrack has had us on edge all day, as every half hour brings a new track listing to the surface. Is anybody else checking the official “Eclipse” MySpaceMusic page every 30 minutes to see which new artist/song has been added? If you haven’t, don’t fret, because I can fill you in. So far, we basically have 8 of the total 15 tracks!

We all knew Muse would be on there because they’re Stephenie Meyer’s favorite band, but seems like all the other band names are related to larger “Twilight” themes. The logic behind choosing Vampire Weekend feels rather obvious, for one.

And, um, The Bravery? They’re a great band, by the way, but are they simply part of an effort to produce a song list heavy on allusions to the story? Edward and Bella will have to muster up all the bravery they can find when they battle a new breed of vampires — with no control of their thirst — in “Eclipse.”

Is it irking anyone else the way they are revealing them out of order? Way to overdo it on the drama, just like the films do, right? With Florence + The Machine JUST added minutes ago, this is what we’re looking at halfway:

1. Metric – “Eclipse (All Yours)”

3. The Bravery – “Ours”

4. Florence + The Machine – “Heavy In Your Arms”

6. Fanfarlo – “Atlas”

7. The Black Keys – “Chop And Change”

9. Beck and Bat For Lashes – “Let’s Get Lost”

10. Vampire Weekend – “Jonathan Low”

Stay tuned while we round out the entire 15 tracks!

What do you think of the “Eclipse” soundtrack at this point and what do you have in mind for the other nine?
