Taylor Swift's New Album Was Inspired By 'Boys and Love'

Can’t wait for Taylor Swift’s new album? The long-awaited follow up to 2008’s Fearless is finally on the way, and Taylor can’t wait either! If you rocked out to Fearless, chances are you’re like the new stuff because nearly two years after her last original album, the pop superstar still has boys and love on the brain.

“[The new album] is going great actually,” Taylor told MTV News on the red carpet at the Time 100 gala, where she was revered by the mag as one of the most influential people of the year. “I’ve been writing it for the last two years, so this summer it’s all about the finishing touches and getting in there in the studio and recording the last couple songs.”

Naturally when asked what inspired the record, Taylor retorted, “What do you think? Boys and love.”

Curious about Taylor’s songwriting process? “I’m constantly writing about what I go through as it happens to me,” the CoverGirl told MTV News back in November. “I try not to get too backlogged and have to go back. I record all the time so I’ve got a lot of songs.”

“When I put out an album, I’d like to think that when people listen to that album it’s like a diary of what I’ve been through in the last two years,” she continued. “So it’s a really fun way to express how I feel and what I’m going through.”

As far as new collaborations go, if Taylor had it her way, one particular rocker would certainly make the list. In another earlier interview, the “You Belong with Me” songstress said “Jack White...'cause he’s awesome. I love his style. I love his writing, and I think he’s an amazing player too, so any kind of collaboration there would be really awesome.”

No word yet if Jack White will show up this time around…
