February is set to be national Kelly Cutrone Month! "The City" star is premiering her new Bravo reality show "Kell on Earth" and she is releasing her book, "If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You." The book is Kelly's way of sharing with young women everywhere how to be empowered and not let others step on them.
“I felt like there’s a lot of confusion about what it means to be feminine,” she told WWD. “I wanted to write a book that reached out to young women... It covers everything from marriages to relationships to jobs to."
Although she loved the idea of writing a book like this, she did admit that it was a bit strenuous at times. “I was already prepping for [New York] fashion week and shooting two TV shows [MTV’s “The City” and her new Bravo show] and running three offices," she said, adding that given her already high profile persona she isn't sure she needs to hire a publicist to help get the word out.
“First of all, who would I hire?” she asked. “And secondly, I’m not going to call a friend of mine at Vanity Fair and be like, ‘Yo, I think it’s really time for me to be a Fanfare [feature subject]’ — I’m just not going to do that. I think that being on Bravo and being on MTV and everything — having that is enough P.R.”
Will you be buying Kelly's book? What types of lessons are you hoping to learn from it?
