Just as everyone has an opinion, a favorite meal and a nose — albeit a fake one at times — so too does everyone have a birthday... even celebrities. Here at Birthday Bash, it's our mission to salute the fine actors, filmmakers and other Hollywood heroes that are celebrating their special day this week. After all, it's cheaper than mailing a cake!
This week, we're partying down in the U.S.A. for a soon-to-be superhero and a young pop singer.
Miley Cyrus (November 23): It's a genuine party in the U.S.A. today as Miley Cyrus turns 17. The daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley represents the face of entertainment for a young generation of music and film lovers.
Miley is clearly best known for her on-screen persona of Hannah Montana — a successful pop singer that hides her true identity from school mates and friends — but she's becoming more and more well-known for her own blossoming musical career (especially after her provocative number at the Teen Choice Awards!). People reported that Miley celebrated her birthday on November 18 alongside her friends, family and maybe-beau Liam Hemsworth at NYC's Canal Room. The party had an '80s theme, and included a performance by the cast of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages."
Scarlett Johansson (November 22): Does it get much better than being married to not one, but two comic book superheroes? That's the question facing young actress Scarlett Johansson, and she has a very matter-of-fact answer: the only way it gets better is if you're a superhero yourself.
Scarlett is starring in this coming summer's "Iron Man 2" as the Black Widow, a sleek and sexy spy that interferes with the developing romance between Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow's characters. But when Scarlett is off the screen, she gets to spend time with husband Ryan Reynolds, who stars as both Deadpool in the "X-Men" movies and Hal Jordan in the soon to film "Green Lantern."
Check back next Monday for an all-new edition of Birthday Bash!
