To say Taylor Swift is having a good week would be an understatement. The awards have been ample, the laughs plentiful and the success has been overwhelming.
“I’m going to go hang out with my crew and my band and the people at my record label, and we’re going to hug and dance and jump up and down,” she told People after The Country Music Awards last night.
Fresh off her hilarious debut on “Saturday Night Live,” Taylor cleaned house at the CMAs and made history. She won Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Music Video of the Year, but it was her Entertainer of the Year trophy that has allotted her a place in the record books as she is the youngest person ever to earn that prize. The question is: Where will she put all these awards?
“I got my first place, so I’m going to put these someplace very, very centrally located!” she said. “I’m not quite sure where. I might have to put up some shelves.”
Ironically, all of this comes after she was humiliated by Kanye at the MTV Video Music Awards two months ago. Could this possibly be her reward for enduring that torture? We sure think so!
When thinking about her budding romance with Taylor Lautner, her sweep at the CMA’s, headlining “SNL” and even starring in an upcoming film entitled “Valentine’s Day” (set for Feb. 2010 release) – it seems as though Taylor couldn’t possibly do fail at anything.
Er, scratch that. She told People there are a few weaknesses she has. “Soccer. And volleyball and basketball,” she said. “I know because I tried all of them in high school — I will join in at sports, but I’m not good at them!”
Well, we’ll give her a pass for her lack of success in atletics. Just this once.
“It feels like just yesterday I was knocking on doors in Nashville saying, ’Hey, would you listen to my demo?'”she recalled to the magazine. “I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to open for all those people who were nominated with me.”
