I have personally always bowed down to the talented and successful Meryl Streep (most because of her diverse resume, which includes things like playing a culinary master in “Julie & Julia,”, a hip, desirable mother in "Mama Mia" and an editrix in “The Devil Wears Prada”), but a new actress might be giving the legend a run for her money — her daughter, Grace Gummer!
According to Reuters, Grace will be making her big television debut on TeenNick’s newest series, “Gigantic.” The 23-year-old will play Anna, a 17-year-old daughter of a celebrity couple. So basically, she'll be mirroring her life and the lives of many other young girls with famous parents (Katie Cassidy and Rumor Willis come to mind). The show will follow Anna through her everyday crazy life being a Hollywood “It” kid.
"Our audience loves celebrity and pop culture, and Gigantic gives them a unique, relatable teen perspective on a world they rarely get to see," executive vice president at Nickelodeon Marjorie Cohn told Reuters.
Grace, whose only other public acting experience came in November 2008 when she starred on stage in NYC in "The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents," will be sharing the small screen spotlight with Joe Mantegna’s (an actor most recently seen on "Criminal Minds") daughter Gia as well.
The TeenNick series is set to premiere in early 2010.
