David Slade's Vision For 'Eclipse' Is Darker And Gorier, According To Ashley Greene

Girls, is it a struggle to get your significant other to accompany you to the multiplex once you've uttered the words "vampire," "Edward" or "Bella"? Well, according to "Twilight" star Ashley Greene, that battle might get a little easier when it comes time to buy tickets for "Eclipse."

Whereas "Twilight" and the upcoming "New Moon" focus more on the romantic aspects of the vampire saga, Ashley says director David Slade's vision for the third film is darker and a bit gorier.

"The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn't have a lot of stuff that guys would go, 'Yeah, I want to go see that,'" she said. "There's going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly."

Ashley's been undergoing rigorous fight training to prepare for the flick, and she's not the only one sporting bruises and bumps to prove it. When we caught up with the Wolf Pack at the official "Twilight" convention in New Jersey last month, Alex Meraz took to the stage sporting a pair of sunglasses to conceal his battered red eyes, jokingly saying, "I'm being insecure."

We're pretty pumped to see the revved up action ourselves, just as long as no Robert Pattinsons were harmed in the making of "Eclipse." Click play on the clip below to hear more from Ashley about the darker third film.
