For Team Jacober's weary of the all sparkly vampire hype, now is your time in the sun. It's all about Taylor Lautner in Entertainment Weekly's Fall Movie Preview issue as the buff shape-shifter and his BFF Bella (Kristen Stewart) take the coveted cover (see a bigger image of it after the jump).
With Kristen and hunk-of-the-moment Robert Pattinson's are-they-or-aren't-they relationship garnering the majority of tabloid ink, it's a refreshing change of pace to hear KStew and Taylor open up about their own close friendship. In addition to gaining more than 30 lbs. of muscle to secure his role in the "Twilight" sequel, Taylor prepped for "New Moon" by spending quality time with costar Kristen, establishing a real friendship that would translate on screen.
"They are so open, and they can tell each other everything," Taylor said of Bella and Jacob's relationship. "So it was very important for me and Kristen to grow very close before doing this. It wasn’t like we went out to, like, theme parks together or anything. It was just, like, going to each other’s houses, hanging out, going and getting some dinner. A lot of nothing — just spending time together.”
All that time together paid off, with the two growing just as close as their onscreen alter egos. In fact, Kristen couldn't help but gush to the magazine about their crazy camaraderie. “We have that relationship,” Kristen said. “It’s lamely cute. I love that kid. I would do anything for him. I would kill for him, literally.”
While we're pretty certain it will never come to murder, we can't help but enjoy the movie experience a touch more knowing that two costars genuinely care for each other, on-and off-the big screen.
What do you think about Kristen and Taylor's friendship? Are you more inclined to enjoy an onscreen pairing knowing that costars are friends in real life?
