Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Chace Crawford, Audrina Patridge & More Shine At Teen Choice Awards: Red Carpet Recap

Though the show doesn't air until tonight on Fox, we got a preview of the stars' (mostly) hot looks on last night's 2009 Teen Choice Awards grass carpet. And just like any awards ceremony, some stars hit the mark while others fell slightly short.

Cool and cute seemed to be dress code for the ladies, with many opting for strapless mini dresses like "Sorority Row" star Audrina Patridge's(above, far left) fushia ruched Zuhair Murad dress. Other gals hitting the right style note were singer Jordin Sparks in an eye-catching aqua number, cute-as-a-button Abigail Breslin, who flaunted her bohemian side in an age appropriate Nanette Lepore embellished dress and Britney Spears in a simple Roberto Cavalli frock (thought it wasn't an amazing choice, we appreciate seeing her toned down and classy).

For the men, Chace Crawford(above, far left with Taylor Lautner) left preppy Nate Archibald on the Upper East Side (no Brooks Brothers here) working an edgy vest and his newish slicked-back 'do while hosts with the mosts the Jonas Brothers looked casual cool in their respective suit jackets.

Though the "Twilight" men showed strongly at last night's ceremony, the questionable choices of their female costars left room for the kids from East High to sneak in a buzzer-beating win for best dressed cast. Ashley Tisdale (above, far left) sparkled in a two-toned sweetheart frock, while her "High School Musical" costar Vanessa Hudgens glowed in a sheer purple Christian Dior mini dress.

The Wildcat men were equally comely, with Zac Efron keeping it casual in a blue button-up and Chucks and Corbin Bleu opting for the night's popular vest-jeans combo.

And as the saying goes: "You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have the facts of life;" some stars just weren't up to par. "Post Grad" star Alexis Bledel (above, left)looked ready for a 1986 prom in her ill-fitted, lace-hemmed blue frock (though we did dig the color), while "Madea Goes to Jail" actress KeKe Palmer(above, center) seemed to be sprouting shoulder foliage thanks to her gold and silver-leaf mini jacket (undoubtedly the most questionable bolero since Jennifer Hudson's 2007 Academy Awards look). And while her white Stella McCartney was so-so, Kim Kardashian(above, right) was almost unrecognizable sporting a new post-breakup blonde 'do that washed her out.
