Yep, that’s right — Chris is hard at work these days putting the finishing touches on one of fall’s most anticipated movies. And since the brothers are so close, Paul’s younger sibling has been bouncing ideas off him all along the way, and has already shown him the film!
“He showed me an early cut,” Paul revealed to us recently when we caught up with him. “And I thought it was awesome.”
OME! What would you give to be a fly on the wall of that screening room? Of course, Paul is every bit as esteemed a filmmaker, and his upcoming “Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant” recently unveiled an eye-popping trailer that seems to promise one of the sweetest surprises of the season when it opens October 23rd. But just the fact that Paul has seen “New Moon” means that somewhere, at this very moment, a nearly-finalized cut is sitting waiting for somebody to press “play.”
Naturally, Paul is a bit biased — as any loving sibling would be when it comes to his brother’s work. But nonetheless, we had to ask him to give us the first-ever “New Moon” movie review.
“Why was it awesome?” he grinned. “Well, I just really enjoyed it.”
“I enjoyed the first movie too,” Paul explained, insisting he was no newbie to the “Twilight” world. “[Chris’ ‘New Moon’ movie] was really just an interesting story.”
So, there you have it Twilighters. Somebody out there in the world has seen “New Moon.” As for the rest of us, well, we’ll just have to wait until November 20th – unless, of course, you want to legally change your last name to Weitz.
What would you be willing to do to be invited to the next Weitz Brothers pow-wow/“New Moon” screening?
