"The City" star Whitney Port showed us threads from her clothing line during her trunk show in April, but we checked back in with the statuesque blond this week to get a sneak peek at the fall and winter collections from Whitney Eve. (It may only be summer, but we couldn't wait till the cold months to see what this stylish girl would be bringing to stores!)
Whitney says the style of her label has really changed since its initial launch in March of 2008. Her inspiration for the new, more sophisticated collection comes from a mixture of her easygoing L.A. style and her classic-chic New York look. She also said her upcoming line can best be described as “office chic meets party girl" — wear one outfit to the office and out at night. Personally, we can't wait to get our hands on the multicolored skirt you'll see after the jump!
Another piece of versatility added to her threads this time around is a tie-in with the Rwanda Community Works Knitting Corporation, which is a charity she partners with that gives hardworking women in Rwanda the chance to make a living for themselves. Whitney joined the cause by designing a scarf made out of African mohair that the Rwandan women were taught to make using special knitting machines. The scarves are then sold within the Whitney Eve Collection, and all proceeds go to the organization.
As for Whitney's other job, she's currently filming the second season of "The City" but wouldn't confirm the rumors that she will returning to her old stomping ground, People's Revolution, to work once again for Kelly Cutrone.
Speaking of outlandish reality show characters, Whit admits she watched a few episodes of “I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here!,” and notes that she was “not surprised” that Heidi and Spencer's presence on the show was so brief. She also seemed less than shocked that Heidi was posing for Playboy as she had heard about it previously. Still, she makes it a point to insist that she no longer has any ties with the couple.
What do you think of the new Whitney Eve collection?
