On Nov. 28, 2014, we saw the very first trailer for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” And in that most exciting and chilling first-look, we heard a voice — which was later revealed to be Supreme Leader Snoke — asking, “There has been an awakening… have you felt it?”
Now, almost exactly a year later, we’ve finally heard the answer: “Yes.”
So says Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren in a new spot released Thursday (Nov. 26) on the movie's official Facebook page. The minute-long clip is the longest teaser since the international trailer, and offers new looks at Kylo Ren and his crossgaurd lightsaber. The still-unseen Snoke goes on to warn him, “Even you have never faced such a test.”
The teaser ultimately reminds us how much action awaits when the movie opens Dec. 18, giving us glimpses of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo opening fire on a Stormtrooper alongside Chewbacca, as well as plenty of explosive X-Wing fighting and Millennium Falcon action.
Hold up… we definitely need another look at Han Solo being a badass.
Another important takeaway from this blessed Thanksgiving treat? We see the familiar shot of the First Order army, only now there’s an electrified red flare in the sky. HMMMM, looks like they're really showing off their weapons in style.
In other “Force Awakens” news, the film recently received a PG-13 rating in the U.S. for “sci-fi action violence.” And judging by this new trailer, it’ll definitely deliver that and much, much more.
