Kendrick Lamar Already Gave Us Something To Be Thankful For: A New Verse

Dot remixes Jay Rock's 'Easy Bake.'

For many families across the U.S., lots of wonderful treats will be coming fresh out the oven on Thanksgiving. There will be turkey, pies and more.

But on the day before the big holiday, we got one of the heartiest audio meals we could have asked for: A new Kendrick Lamar verse.

On Wednesday (Nov. 25), Dot appeared on the remix to Jay Rock's "Easy Bake" (He was on the original, too, which opened with Rock rapping, "This sh-t is fresh out the oven/ Fresh out the oven," in case you didn't get the whole oven thing above).

There's no new bars from Rock or SZA on the track, which is officially called "Traffic Jam (Easy Bake Remix)," but just a new Kendrick verse is viable consolation prize.

Rock had actually hinted that this revamped version of the track was a potential.

“Actually that second record was going to be a whole different song,” he told 2DopeBoyz in September, referencing the beat flip on the orginal. “Kendrick did a verse to that too. It was going to be a whole different song for the album but I had to break everything down. We just added it on to ‘Easy Bake.’ It was a whole different song but it sound good together.

“You never know [if there will be a remix]!” he said. “I might do something. I might holla at the lil homie and do the remix. Stay tuned.”

This is our second new verse from him this month. He also showed up on Ty Dolla $ign's Free TC album opener, "L.A.," and dismantled that one, too.

Happy holidays.
