Grilled cheese and life hacks go together like...well, grilled cheese and most things. That stuff is delicious. One popular grilled cheese hack that's been circulating around the internet suggests that you can simply flip your toaster on its side to make the sandwiches like so:

But Suzanne Dale from the U.K. recently tried out the "hack" and got disastrous and dangerous results:

"I thought it might be a faster way of making cheese on toast," Dale told the Manchester Evening News. Her toaster was in flames for a full 20 minutes before she chucked it out the window.

"Luckily I live in a house and have a garden," she continued. "But if it was anyone living in a flat or somebody who was less agile who couldn’t get out as quick, they were real flames, it could be dangerous."

If just reading this made your mouth water for some gooey realness, know that there are plenty of other safe and creative ways to make the sandwich. You can toast one in a George Foreman grill, for example. If you really want to try this whole grilled-cheese-in-a-toaster thing, though, get these "toaster bags" which should safely allow you to pull off this trick.
