Meek Mill has two albums on his resume, including this year's Billboard No. 1, Dreams Worth More Than Money, but he built his buzz and earned his rep thanks to his consistent, booming and riotous mixtapes. His Flamers series between 2008 and 2010 helped him become the pride of Philadelphia, and his Dreamchasers tapes took that hype to a national level.
Now, after two years -- Dreamchasers 3 dropped in 2013, after the first two in 2011 and 2012 -- Meek is coming with Dreamchasers 4 next month. And it sounds like he's got a point to prove.
"Dreamchasers 4 coming real soon -- it's definitely going down in December," he told MTV News on Friday, shortly before hitting the stage at the Bacardi Untamable House Party in Atlanta. "We just f--king the game up like we always do."
He's got the facts to back that boast up, too: Dreamchasers included smashes "I'ma Boss" and "House Party," while Dreamchasers 2 featured hits "Amen" and "Burn."
As for why he decided to drop the tape now, less than half-a-year after his album? It's simple. "Meek Mill got a lot to say right now."
That's not hard to imagine.
Though he didn't specify what he meant when he said "a lot," there are plenty of options: He's still riding arm-in-arm with girlfriend Nicki Minaj, whom he sat next to at the American Music Awards on Sunday night; he may have more to say on the feud between him and Drake which took shape over the summer; he could address the state of Maybach Music Group and his recent public falling out with Wale; or he could just be ready to give the streets another anthem to ride to.
Sounds like we'll find out in a few weeks.
