A Track-By-Track Breakdown Of Adele’s '25'

Adele feels love, heartbreak and regret.

Finally! The wait is officially over.

Adele has released her highly anticipated album, 25, and for the fans that have waited four years for new material, they will not be disappointed.

Adele said this was a "make-up" record, but there's so much more underneath its surface. Adele gives us a glimpse into her life through 11 tracks that are bold, powerful and highly emotional. She hints at heartbreak and feels regret, but she has finally found an everlasting love.

Here is a track-by-track breakdown of 25 and everything we learned about the pop star.

"Hello"

What We Learned: Adele has become an adult, but that doesn't mean she doesn't miss her past. She misses her former relationships, and "everyone that I love," but she wants to make up for all the lost time...if she has the chance.

Favorite Lyric: "Hello, it's me, I was wondering/ If after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything/ They say that time's supposed to heal, yeah/ But I ain't done much healing."

"Send My Love (To Your New Lover)"

What We Learned: Sure, this is a make-up record, but there's still room for one more "f--k you" to her ex. Adele has finally forgiven the guy that inspired 21, and since they're "not kids no more," she's sending her love to his new lover and hopes he "treats her better."

Favorite Lyric: "Send my love to your new lover/ Treat her better/ We gotta let go of all of our ghosts/ We both know we ain't kids no more."

"I Miss You"

What We Learned: Adele is getting sexy! While you may be listening to her music in your bedroom with a box of tissues close by to dry your tears, this song can be listened in the bedroom for a whole other reason. This is definitely the most erotic song Adele has released, that has her talking about desire and devotion.

Favorite Lyric: "Bring the floor up to my knees/ Let me fall into your gravity/ And kiss me back to life to see/ Your body standing over me."

"When We Were Young"

What We Learned: Adele is not only getting nostalgic on this song, but she's also painting a picture of her future. The singer said the inspiration was about being at a party with all the people "you’ve ever fallen out with," but feeling like you're 15 and having the best time ever. Also, that high-note she hits is just everything.

Favorite Lyric: "You look like a movie/ You sound like a song."

"Remedy"

What We Learned: Adele has finally found real love in the form of her three-year-old son, Angelo. The song is all about how when "the world seems so cruel" she will be "your remedy." It's beautiful, heartfelt and you can feel the love just pouring out through the song.

Favorite Lyric: "No river is too wide or too deep for me to swim to you/ Come whenever I'll be the shelter that won't let the rain come through/ Your love, it is my truth/ And I will always love you."

"Water Under the Bridge"

ADELE_1

What We Learned: Even Adele is uncertain in love. The song is all about a critical point in a relationship and trying to figure out if your partner is in or out. Adele wrote the song about her current boyfriend, Simon Konecki, because she was "waiting for him to be horrible" and called it a "ground breaking moment."

Favorite Lyric: "It's so cold in your wilderness/ I want you to be my keeper/ But not if you are so reckless."

"River Lea"

What We Learned: You can take the girl away from the river, but you can't take the river away from the girl. Adele sings about the The Lea, a river in London, and how its polluted waters have seeped into her blood causing her relationship failures -- "It's in my blood and I stain every heart that I use to heal the pain....I blame it on the River Lea."

Favorite Lyric: "When I was a child I grew up by the River Lea/ There was something in the water, now that something's in me/ Oh I can't go back, but the reeves are growing out of my fingertips/ I can't go back to the river."

"Love In The Dark"

Adele-2

What We Learned: Adele goes from heartbreak to heartbreaker in this emotional ballad. However, she can't bear her soon-to-be ex to look at her while she's being "cruel to be kind." I have no idea whose heart Adele broke, but at least you know that when she did it, she felt pretty bad about it.

Favorite Lyric: "It is the world to mean/ That you are in my life/ But I want to live/ And not just survive."

"Million Years Ago"

adeleeyes

What We Learned: Adele has spoken out several times about how fame "frightens" her, but now she is talking about its effect. Adele touches on fame on this hauntingly slow ballad and how it has personally affected her and everyone around her. She sings all about how she misses the air, her mother, and her friends, but her "life is flashing by and all I can do is watch and cry." It makes you realize how lonely life at the the top could be.

Favorite Lyric: "I wish I could live a little more/ Look up to the sky, not just the floor."

"All I Ask"

giphy (1)

What We Learned: Adele teams up with Bruno Mars for this piano ballad about wanting one more night with someone. It's a song of desperation. Adele is worried she will "never love again," so she wants one more "memory I can use." This song is so emotional that you can feel Adele's heart break into a million pieces as she sings the song.

Favorite Lyric: "If this is my last night with you/ Hold me like I'm more than just a friend/

Give me a memory I can use."

"Sweetest Devotion"

What We Learned: There's no mistaking that this song is about her son, since his voice is featured in the beginning of the song. The track is about a love that hit her "like an explosion" and brought her to life. Adele has finally found the love that she's been looking for all these years and it's one that will belong to her "eternally."

Favorite Lyric: "I've been looking for you, baby/ In every face that I've ever known/ And there is something about the way you love me/ That finally feels like home."
