Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat Lands Her Own Cosmetics Line

With her piercing blue eyes and soft features, Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette (wait, did you think I was talking about a person?) has always seemed like she could be a model, but now it’s official. Choupette will be the new face of a holiday capsule collection for cosmetic brand Shu Uemura. The collection’s name? Shupette. I know—perfection. This marks the first time an animal has teamed up with a beauty brand, confirming what we already knew: Choupette is the most powerful cat in fashion. After all, she’s already inspired a capsule collection of accessories that included fingerless gloves, purses, and, of course, iPad cases—a nod to her favorite device to play with. Plus she has more Twitter followers than most human beings.

The Shupette collection is still a work in progress but it will definitely include furry eyelashes. What exactly are furry eyelashes? Judging by WWD’s pictures, they look like if you walked outside in a blizzard with false eyelashes on and snow collected on them, which is to say they perfectly capture Choupette’s coat color. Hopefully, Karl and Shu Uemura also dreamed up some blue-tinted contact lenses to pair with them. I never thought I’d say this but, uh, my new beauty icon is a cat.
