There was simply no way Beyonce's costumes for the On the Run tour would be anything less than flawless, but somehow they're shaping up to be even more impressive than we were expecting.
To whip up performance looks fit for a queen, she enlisted a bunch of her favorite designers. Last week, we learned that Michael Costello made a black lace bodysuit for the tour. Now, Bey is spilling the deets on that leather Alexander Wang bodysuit.
You know the one—all leather straps and bondage vibes? According to her website:
During the second half of the On The Run show, Beyonce's wardrobe makes a switch from the mesh masks and bodysuits of designers like Versace and Michael Costello in favor of an all black look from New York City-based designer Alexander Wang.
Lace to leather, I follow you, Bey.
The Alexander Wang look is a riff off of an urban bomber hoodie jacket that was cropped to expose a bondage bodysuit underneath that has graphic cutouts. When worn up, the oversized hood covers the face, adding an incognito element reminiscent of the On The Run theme.
Similar to the Costello pieces, the bomber jacket and bodysuit were very labor intensive. The jacket sleeves have "exotic snake skin seamed into the aero foam mesh strip-by-strip" (I don't know what that means either, but it sure sounds impressive!) and the bodysuit has "custom-made nylon ladder embroidery" that was sewn piece-by-piece into the leather, giving it a sheer look.

If Bey is going to keep releasing info on her tour outfits, may I request the story behind that red fringed (and sequined!) full bodysuit? If she could dish on how she gets in and out it so quickly, that'd also be great—I struggle with a flowy romper and she pops in and out of a skintight jumpsuit. Flawless.
