Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, And More Are Best Dressed At The Billboard Music Awards

It's a little tough to properly stalk an award show's red carpet when the pre-show is streaming instead of being televised, because buffering always seems to happen at the exact moment Nicki Minaj takes over your screen–and the second you get a proper glimpse, your screen goes black, and then your heart breaks in half. Just me? Oh. Anyway! The stars seeeeriously turned it out for tonight's Billboard Awards red carpet, even if Time Warner Cable didn't appreciate it as much as I did.

Remember back when Nicki used to show up to red carpets looking like a Harajuku doll in tiered, technicolor dresses and pink wigs (which may or may not have been cast off to Rihanna as hand-me-downs)? That's nothing but a distant memory, and I, for one, couldn't be more thrilled, not because I don't love the old Nicki, but because I love the new Nicki even more. Tonight, she chose an Alexander McQueen gown that was totally sophisticated and super chic, or as super chic as underboob can possibly be—it was basically the MTV Movie Awards all over again, but with less jewelry and more cutouts.

Whether she's on the red carpet or on the stage or on my Instagram, which I use for the sole purpose of double-tapping snapshots like this, Iggy Iggs literally always brings it. AND BOY DID SHE. Her maroon Zuhair Murad, with its halter neckline and waist-cinching online casino skirt, was lovely and beautiful, and, well, SO FANCY.

To say that Kesha has never looked more gorgeous would be a prettah prettah big statement, but, well, KESHA HAS NEVER LOOKED MORE GORGEOUS. Her hourglass gown was an awfully elegant choice for the Billboard Music Awards, considering Lorde was wearing pleated-front pants and 5 Seconds of Summer was rocking cutoff band tees, but she looked like a princess and that's all that matters. Also, her faded pink hair is PERFECTION.

Somehow, J.Lo appears to be not only aging backwards, but also getting increasingly more stylish with every red carpet appearance (if that's the reality of getting older, bring on the birthdays). The brand-new Icon Award winner (congrats, girl!) went with a seemingly conservative—no cleavage, long length, etc.—Donna Karan gown that, upon closer inspection, was little more than a body suit and a few swaths of fabric. But maaaaaan were those swaths of fabric pretty.

Lorde skipped walking the red carpet, which makes sense, because if she was still in high school like every other 17-year-old, she'd TOTALLY be the type to skip posing for prom pics. But it's fine/whatev/etc., because she won awards and accepted them with super charming speeches read from her iPhone because #MILLENNIAL. Further proving her unwavering cool-girl status, she also wore some sort of shiny suit, the sleekness of which was second only to her v. v. straight hair. And that furry shawl is something I need in my closet tomorrow. Dear Lorde, pretty please? [INSERT PRAYER EMOJI x 10]
