Katy Perry Kicks Off Prismatic World Tour In Lights, Sequins, And Palm Fronds

We've been anticipating Katy Perry's Prismatic World Tour since November. Half a year, you guys. Last night, it finally kicked off in Belfast, and it looks incredible. Where else are you going to see five humans dressed as cats on one stage? Cats isn't on Broadway anymore, sorry. While we thought we had a good idea of what to expect from all the previews Katy has been sharing throughout the past week and a half, seeing what the sketches actually look like IRL is an entirely different story. Oh, also, there were a few looks we didn't know were coming.

One of the few outfits we weren't expecting was this "Roar"-inspired ~lewk~. While in the video, Katy fashioned a regal wardrobe from things she found in the jungle. This outfit features plastic leaves and neon thigh-highs, two things you cannot find in the wilderness.

The smiley face and peace-sign-print outfit from Moschino was as cheerful as expected. The yellow must be so bright IRL that Katy needs to shield her eyes when wearing it.

The birthday suit from Di$count Universe was perhaps the outfit we were most looking forward to seeing. How would all that print be splayed across her body? While we can't fully see how the outfit works (yet!), it looks like it reads as a cheetah-print bodysuit with opaque designs all over it from far away.

When we last saw this yin-yang skirt from Johnny Wujek and Marco Marco, Katy had paired it with the smiley-face top from her Moschino outfit. At the show, though, she wore it with a more matchy-matchy crop top. Keeping us on our toes, that Katy.

We haven't seen pics of the accompanying cape yet, but the sheer butterfly dress from Valentino is paired with, like, a swirled cotton-candy wig and guitar decorated with a painted sunflower. There's also that sunflower mic stand, which is just—I don't even know. This is what Katy would've been like if she had stayed a country singer named Katy Hudson, I think.

This Roberto Cavalli number is actually very similar to ones we imagined Katy would be wearing on this tour, given its light refracting name. What we didn't expect is that it lights up, just like we suggested.

Katy's cat suit from The Blonds is nearly identical to the sketch she shared last week. Not included in the sketch, however, are the four men dressed as cats with her. I would like to see the sketches for those suits, TBH.

Much like her "Roar"-video-inspired outfit, there's a look that pulls from her "Dark Horse" music video, courtesy of Fausto Puglisi. The bodice is decorated with a gold Eye of Horus and there's quite the ornate neckline.

And, finally, THIS from Todd Thomas. I wonder what song she sings wearing this? "Firework," maybe? Oh, "Firework" is the encore? Makes sense, considering this should be the last outfit for all events ever, IMHO.

There are a few outfits that Katy previewed that we haven't seen yet—Nicolas Jebran's pleated skirt, the sparkly Cavalli dress, and the fringed Alexis Mabille bodysuit—but it's only the first night. We have a feeling we'll be seeing new outfits until December. We're ready, Katy!
