Red carpet millinery is happening for 2014, y'all. Write it down. Pharrell Williams made a big splash with his Vivienne Westwood Buffalo hat at the 2014 Grammys, sparking memes and historical explanation pieces a plenty. Now, a few short months later, Erykah Badu hit the 2014 Met Gala red carpet in a big (dare I say, bigger?) hat of her own.

Close followers of Badu know that this isn't her first rodeo with oversized headgear—this love affair extends well into 2010 if not earlier, long before Pharrell's hat had its own Twitter account. The tall sand-colored chapeau was customized for Badu by Riccardo Tisci to match her Givenchy ensemble (see the mirrored beadwork on her coat and the band of the hat?). It's a much more coordinated approach than Skateboard P's Malcom McLaren-leaning Grammys 'fit. Both have their own merits, but we want to know what you think. Who wore it better?
