Kristen Stewart is easily one of the biggest stars in the U.S. of A., so it makes perfect sense that Karl Lagerfeld would cast the actress as the face of Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas collection. Sure, it’s hard to imagine K-Stew herding cattle and wearing chaps. But if anyone can get her to release her inner cowgirl in the name of fashion, it’s Karl.

And WHOA, has that cowgirl ever been released. After looking at a new set of pics from the Paris-Dallas photo shoot, we had stick our heads out the windows to make sure we weren’t accidentally teleported to an old time-y Texas saloon. Kristen models everything from fringed jackets to gun holsters—all in front of a rustic barn backdrop—with total ease. “Typically, I wouldn’t see myself as being the quintessential face of Chanel with the pearls and the classics,” Stewart told Grazia. “But I liked stepping into that role, and this suits me a little bit more than past collections because it is very American.”

Also, when Karl Lagerfeld decides to shoot a campaign himself, you just know it’s going to be flawless. K-Stew has a longstanding admiration for the designer and his new collection (her favorite piece is the black dress with embroidered stars), and it shows in the edgy editorial. I mean, just check out her smoldering smize. And you can really see that admiration in action in Grazia’s behind-the-scenes video. There’s even a glorious twist! SPOILER ALERT: Karl elicits a smile-laugh hybrid from Kristen. It’s an American miracle!

Check out the video and all the gorgeous photos at Grazia. And if you find yourself online shopping for cowboy boots for the rest of the day, don’t worry—it’s normal.
