Kiernan Shipka is looking more and more adult every day. The 14-year-old has miraculously bypassed the early teen awkward stage that every other mortal goes through. But it’s not just her killer sense of style that gives her an air of sophistication. Kiernan also carries herself and speaks like she’s secretly 32. In her cover story for Scene magazine, this is more evident than ever as the Mad Men breakthrough star talks about everything from her favorite band Haim (a girl after my own heart) to her style icon Grace Kelly.

Fittingly, for her editorial spread, Kiernan wears a handful of glamorous retro looks that would have definitely received the Grace Kelly stamp of approval, like a beaded mint Valentino gown, a black lace Louis Vuitton dress, a winged sleeve floral appliqué-covered Dolce & Gabbana dress, and a starry Chanel gown. To keep things modern, Kiernan also wore an outfit by younger rising designers Wes Gordon and Simone Rocha who provided her top and skirt respectively, with a hat by Chanel.

Not surprisingly, Kiernan’s love of ’60s fashion was sparked while being on set. “I totally owe my love of fashion to Mad Men,” she said in her interview. “I got very inspired by the clothes that costume designer Janie [Bryant] put together.” Ditto that.
