A metallic dress may look expensive, but there are plenty of cheap options out there. Here are three. The first is a gold metallic number ($115) with geometric threaded detailing and shoulder cutouts. While the shoulders and dress length show some skin, the rest is totally full coverage, which means you’ll be able to dance and pose for pictures without constantly adjusting. The second option is a two-tone metallic dress with an unusual neckline and flared skirt ($150). Because this dress is so reflective, it’ll appear as different colors throughout the night—multiple dresses for the price of one! Finally, there’s this silver-and-black fitted mini ($43), which, post-prom, can def. be incorporated into your everyday wardrobe.

While plain, solid-color dresses have long been the norm at proms, it looks like prints and patterns may get an opportunity to shine this year. We saw a number of printed options out there, but these three are our faves. The first is not only patterned, but sequined ($88). If you wanna go big at prom, this is the dress to do it in. The second option offers a bold print, a sweetheart neckline, and lace ($141). Besides all that there’s tulle under the skirt. What could be more perfect for prom? The third option is a mint-green dress with a floral print ($136). The best part of this dress, IMHO, is the bow at the back—it’s unexpected, but totally #WERKS.

For those of you looking for a simpler prom steez, fret not—we didn’t forget you. These three neutral options will pair with pretty much any ’do, any accessories, and any shoes. The first option is a very, very pale grey-green dress with cutouts on the bodice ($123). The color is seriously intriguing—you can get away with telling people it’s any color except, like, red. Perhaps the most classic of any of the other looks on this page, this lavender dress is simple and timeless ($85). Your shoe options range from silver, like the model is wearing, to, like, neon yellow. You do you. The final option is a sheer taupe dress, which, like the others, goes with everythang ($122). The sheer skirt gives you the illusion of a long dress but the feeling of a short one—this dress gives you options on options. Go forth, shop, and have fun!
