Blink and you might have missed Revolve’s cameo in the Clueless-themed video for Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX’s “Fancy.” The online retailer played the very important role of providing the closet-organizing app for Iggy. As it turns out, their appearance in the video was more than just your run-of-the-mill product placement and a reminder that a closet organizing app needs to exist. (If you know of any good apps Cher would approve of, please holler this way.) It was IRL foreshadowing that Iggy and Revolve would team up. The Aussie rapper is slated to be the next face of the brand.

Iggy is a great catch for retailers, not just because she’s extremely stylish, all about girl power, and, yeah, can rap, but she’s also uniquely embraced the merging of her art and commerce before. Back in 2012, Iggy appeared in the world’s first shoppable music video for “I Think She Ready,” a concept we hope will live on. Revolve was smart to tap the rising rapper—not only will she appear all over the site, but her merch for the tour supporting her upcoming The New Classic album, out April 22, will also be sold on the retailer’s site. It’s hard to believe Iggy doesn’t even have an full-length album out yet, and she’s already owning the music retail game.
