Kiernan Shipka Models Retro ‘Mad Men’ Fashion For ‘Vanity Fair’

I will never NOT be surprised that Kiernan Shipka is only 14 years old. Maybe it’s because she fits in so well with the 1960s setting of Mad Men. But more likely, it’s because her personal style is already more mature and high-fashion than most adults in the entertainment industry. She always (ALWAYS) kills it on the red carpet, and now, in this month’s issue of Vanity Fair, she brings that same glamorous flair to a retro-themed photo spotlight. She even showed up to the interview looking flawless—a vintage Céline sweater, drop-waist Rag & Bone skirt, black ankle boots, and pink Miu Miu purse. Like…what??? I guess Kiernan is the one girl in the history of the world who hasn’t had to go through an awkward preteen phase #blessed.

For the glossy photoshoot, Kiernan models an array of structured dresses and vintage hairstyles that could have easily been pulled from the Mad Men wardrobe department. We especially love the off-the-shoulder Balenciaga dress and the color-blocked Tommy Hilfiger dress with the flared skirt. But our favorite has to be the one-shoulder, royal blue Saint Laurent dress (SO perfect for an afternoon bike ride along the beach!).

In the interview, Kiernan cites Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn as her major fashion influences: “I just like their style so much because it seems so timeless.” Makes sense, as we can picture Grace AND Audrey wearing any of the outfits in this shoot—and any of Kiernan’s IRL outfits, as well. It’s hard to imagine what Miss Shipka’s wardrobe will look like when she’s out of her teens, but it looks like she’s already well on her way to joining the ranks of her two role models.
