Tris Would Totally Approve Of Shailene Woodley's 'Marie Claire' Spread

There are still four more tortuous days until Divergent hits theaters, but we're becoming increasingly confident that Shailene Woodley is going to totally nail the role of Tris. The latest evidence comes in the form of her new Marie Claire interview, in which she talks openly and confidently about herself AND models some bold, hard-to-pull-off clothes. On the cover, Shailene wears Tommy Hilfiger pants and a swimsuit with cutouts and zippers, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if she decided to swim in the Olympics in this and then won. #sportyspice

And the inside spread keeps the style just as strong. There are exactly ZERO lacy details or pink swatches to be seen anywhere—Tris would definitely approve. First of all, the pairing of a black-and-white striped Saint Laurent dress with checkered Vans is pretty genius, and probably something Shailene would wear IRL. Then, to up the edgy ante, she wears a geometric Pucci jacket over a bra top and briefs, complete with black high-top sneakers. Rounding out the shoot's wardrobe is a Céline op-art top and pleated white skirt, which is the frilliest piece in the entire spread.

Throughout the entire interview, she proves that she is self-aware and confident enough to pull off any extreme looks. When asked if she would ever cut her hair shorter or even shave her head, her response was simply, "That would be so badass." Yes, Shailene. Yes, it would.
