How To Get Ready For An Oscar Party With 'Faking It' Star Katie Stevens

If you're anything like us, you love some good behind-the-scenes 411. Like, when I'm looking at Selena Gomez's hair at Oscar parties, I want to know how long that sleek 'do took. Three days or three hours? You could tell me either, and I wouldn't be surprised. Luckily for us, Katie Stevens, the star of MTV's new show Faking It (premiering April 22!) snapped some pictures of her process as she got ready for one such party. We are so in the know now. Join us as we cherish this inside info below!

Katie had the help of hair stylist Jesse Montana to get her 'do ready for the partay. Katie obviously knew selfies were going to be, like, the biggest meme of the night even before the show began. She got a head start on Ellen, Jennifer, Bradley, Jared, Lupita's brother, and everyone else in that photo.

Jesse gave Katie a sleek, yet totally edgy, ponytail. The front of her hair has a slight pompadour feel to it and ton of volume. It immediately adds four inches to her height.

Katie worked with stylist Hellin Kay, who, as you can see, pulled a pretty wide variety of gowns for her. Hellin told us that they had three criteria for the perfect gown. She said, "Katie has a great figure so I wanted a dress to show that off. We also wanted to find something sophisticated but youthful at the same time. We both fell in love with the fit and empire waist in the Narces she wore." The gown she ended up wearing (SPOILER ALERT) is not in this picture.

Here are a few of the shoe and clutch choices Hellin had for Katie—it's like shopping in your own house! It seems like THE BEST TIME. Katie ended up in a pair of strappy black sandals from Nine West with a Lauren Mirken clutch, but she seriously couldn't have gone wrong with any of these choices, TBH.

Katie snapped another selfie once makeup artist Cindy Miguens had finished her smoky eye and nude lip. If my eye makeup ever looked this good (especially this close up), I would have it tattooed onto my face. It would hurt, but it would so be worth it, IMHO.

In a move that only cemented our love for this entire look even further, Katie sent us a pic of her gray snakeskin-esque nail art, which is subtle, but definitely adds another dimension to the ensemble. If Lorde's style is "red carpet goth," Katie is "rock glam."

Before she arrived at the party, Katie managed to give us a detail shot via another selfie. Capturing the texture of her nails on her clutch, the neckline of her dress, and House of Harlow earrings requires a level of skill that is not easily obtained. We are officially impressed.

And, without further ado, here's the final look! The combination of the ponytail and earrings provided enough oomph to keep her neckline bare, which looks ah-may-zing. "On Faking It, we play high school students, so we don’t often get really dressed up," Katie told us. "For Oscar night I wanted to have fun with my hair and makeup. We decided to really play up my eyes and went for an overall more glamorous look." Mission accomplished, Katie—we will definitely be keeping our eye on you! (P.S. So #jealz she's outside without a jacket on. "Warmth" is a feeling I've completely forgotten.)
