The 10 Best Dresses Of The 2014 Academy Awards

And the Oscar for the Best Dress at the 2014 Academy Awards goes to... Ugh, bear with me. This seal is stuck. Man, this thing is REALLY on there. Does anyone happen to have, like, an envelope opener or something? I JUST got this mani and really don't want to ruin my nails. Anybody? Bueller? OK, well, in that case, we're just going to have to give you our top 10 because TBH, we didn't want to pick a favorite anyway.

LUPITA NYONG'O IN PRADA

OHHH, LUPITA. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways! JK, nobody has time for that (our list is LONG). But seriously, we are obsessed with Nyongo's "Nairobi blue," deep-V custom Prada gown. Paired with a delicate gold Fred Leighton headband, diamond leaflet earrings, and her adorable "family totem" frog-shaped ring, the Best Supporting Actress winner proved, yet again, why she's fashion AND film's newest "It" Girl. She just. Can't. Lose.

KATE HUDSON IN ATELIER VERSACE

Just when we thought we couldn't love a gown on Kate Hudson more than that slinky, yellow satin number she wore at the end of How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (GAH. SO GOOD!), she swoops in from left field with this beaded, belly-grazing Atelier Versace gown, complete with shrouded cape.

CATE BLANCHETT IN GIORGIO ARMANI

We had to do a double take when we saw Best Actress winner, Cate Blanchett, glide down this year's red carpet in Giorgio Armani. Wearing a nude, semi-sheer, cap-sleeve gown with feminine, sparkling embellishments, it was basically, like, the formal version of Britney Spears' infamous bodysuit from the 2000 Video Music Awards, aka the dress of our dreams.

KERRY WASHINGTON IN JASON WU

Some women might worry that wearing a billowing, vintage, grape-colored gown while pregnant might evoke comparisons to an inflated Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. But then again, most women aren't (1) Kerry Washington and (2) BFFs with designer Jason Wu, who outfitted the Scandal star in this stunning draped dress, which marked his first time outfitting an Academy Awards attendee.

ANNE HATHAWAY IN GUCCI

Even though Anne Hathaway wasn't nominated for an Oscar this year, we think her flashy Gucci halter dress might have been her own subtle ode to her big win last year, when she wore a similarly shaped dress by Prada. Whereas her pale pink choice from 2013 was much more lady-like and demure, this year's look screamed, "I LOVE DISCO BALLS!"

JENNIFER LAWRENCE IN CHRISTIAN DIOR

Jennifer Lawrence didn't take home the award for Best Supporting Actress this year, but we still think she's a winner in this red-orange peplum gown by Christian Dior. (That's a pretty solid consolation, right?) We're also seriously digging her Neil Lane backlace, which she's quickly making her Oscars staple.

EMMA WATSON IN VERA WANG

UGH, Emma Watson. Stop being so perfect! Actually, we take that back. Keep doing exactly what you're doing, because every time you leave the house we get more and more inspired by your impeccable style. Watson wore a metallic and black Vera Wang gown with an hourglass shape and complemented the look with a messy, pulled-back 'do that was decorated with diamond-studded, star-shaped bobby pins.

AMY ADAMS IN GUCCI

Amy Adams, who was nominated for Best Actress, looked RULL good in Gucci at this year's Academy Awards. Her sapphire, strapless, tuxedo-inspired gown fit her like a glove and the itty-bitty baby train added a subtle dose of glamour.

ANGELINA JOLIE IN ELIE SAAB

Even though #AngiesRightLeg stayed under wraps this year, it sure got to hide under some super beautiful fabric. Jolie sparkled in a silver, semi-sheer Elie Saab haute couture dress with a plunging neckline and long sleeves. Which, considering it's FREEZING in California right now (it's dipped down to 57 degrees, you guys), is totally appropriate.

CHARLIZE THERON IN CHRISTIAN DIOR

Who has two thumbs, legs for days, and one of the best optical-illusion dresses on the Oscars red carpet? (Hint: It's not me) Give up? It's Charlize Theron, who killed it in a not-so-simple, deep-V black gown by Christian Dior. While it appears to be stuck on with tape, the dress is actually held up by semi-sheer straps. Also of note: Her can't-be-missed Y-drop diamond necklace by Harry Winston. IDK about you, but I'm pretty sure I'd take that over an Oscar any day (but Theron has both, which is nice for her).
