Lorde, Haim, And More Are All Hair For ‘V’ Magazine’s March Covers

When it comes to covers, V magazine can do no wrong. The publication has a killer streak of taking the artists we love to see and transforming them into eye-popping cover stars. Remember Lady Gaga’s semi-nude recent run? Or when Miley tried out a pink faux-hawk and men’s briefs? This time around, for their March music issue, V tapped four of our favorite artists to emerge in 2013: Lorde, Haim, Banks, and Say Lou Lou for a set of decidedly demure alternate covers.

The cover ladies are styled ultra low-key in black turtlenecks and braided cuffs, making HAIR the unimpeachable focal point. Shot by Inez & Vinoodh, the photos are simple yet dramatic, keeping the overall vibe more “art piece” than “shampoo commercial.” Lorde’s curly mane occupies nearly as much of the frame as her face and body. Meanwhile, the Haim sisters channel Glamazon-era Cher with a hyper-glossy version of their signature long, middle-parted waves. Bonus points to them for looking like they’re tethered by their locks—just family sticking together, y’all!

The music issue drops on February 27 but you can catch the full feature, plus Banks and Say Lou Lou’s covers, at vmagazine.com!
