The 2014 Grammy Fashion Awards, As Decided By Us
After the final performance got cut off by the closing credits, after everyone stopped wondering if there was some sort of safety net to catch Pink if she fell from those strings in the air (but seriously, was there?), after Pharrell ran out of things to say on behalf of Daft Punk—there were still a few very *ACHEM* VERY important honors to be handed out. The fashion awards, OBVIOUSLY.
If it were left up to just us, Skateboard P.'s giant Arby's hat would have taken home ALL the awards, so instead, we teamed up with MTV News and put together an expert panel to break down the best and worst looks of the night. Our very own Gaby Wilson repped Team Style and Christina Garibaldi reported for News, alongside US Weekly Fashion Police contributor Chelsea White and #shehashadit blogger (and MTV Style contributor) Jarvis Derrell.
Like a thief in the night, Paris Hilton snuck in and stole everyone's hearts in the "It's All Light" category, beating out fierce contenders like Iggy Azalea and Chrissy Teigen. Gaby says, "[Paris] wore this amazing floor-length Haus of Milani dress that had a really cool mock turtleneck with rhinestones lining the turtleneck."
Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Pharrell and Miguel were all up for the Most Dapper Dudes award, but we had to give it up to the duo who wore an emerald velvet suit and head-to-toe houndstooth, respectively. "Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, just a vision in that emerald-velvet-dream-come-true and then Ryan Lewis in that gorgeous houndstooth, I mean not everybody can rock that and it's really hard as a man to be bold and make a statement, but they did it so well and I loved it," Jarvis gushed.
