Iggy Azalea Interviews Katy Perry About Her New Music Video, COVERGIRL Campaign, And More

Right on the heels of the release of Katy Perry’s “Unconditionally” music video, Iggy Azaela sat down with the new COVERGIRL on MTV to talk about the vid, touring, songwriting, and what she would name a cat if it were presented to her (Kiggy, obviously). Both looked fabulous as always.

Iggy skewed very formal for your average interviewer, decked out in her much talked about 2013 EMA cut-out dress by Dilek Hanif, Cartier jewelry, and red Jimmy Choo shoes. Katy, on the other hand, wore a look that was totally different from her turquoise Zac Posen dress, her mirrored performance outfit, and her fishnet/Chanel post-show dress. She opted instead for a short, Peter Pan collar dress from Shibuya 109 in Tokyo, which she paired with black knee socks. (If you’re keeping track, that brings her to a total of 4 outfits that night. *wipes sweat off upper lip*

Katy’s MTV First interview look is a perfect example of her new “alternative” steez which includes the “fuzzy sweaters and alternative hair” she’s been wearing a lot more of recently. KP also mentioned that this look is going to be incorporated into her COVERGIRL campaign. She then reminded Iggy that she “can’t always be the candy queen.” Which is true, as we know, because she killed her with NO REMORSE. RIP, candy queen.

You can watch all of their hilariously adorable interview clips here, or if you’ve only got time for one, peep the interview above where Katy discusses her new style, her forthcoming COVERGIRL campaign, and when she feels most empowered. IMHO, though, I would make the time for the whole thing. Honestly, I’d listen to a daily podcast hosted by these two; that’s how entertaining their banter is. #freeidea
